Hey Y’all! I have another great round up for you. This time I have looking at interesting ways to make an impact in a room that may not be quite so traditional. Im talking Statement Making Ceilings. There is still a classic and timeless way to do this but it definitely brings an added twist to the design of the room. Or you can go with a little more bolder of an approach, it all just depends on the space and your style!

This is one of the more classic ways to create a statement making ceiling. More traditionally done on walls, adding shiplap to the ceiling gives a little added texture and helps create a focal point. It is also fun when done in a darker accent color with lighter furnishings like the image below.

If your home has amazing architecture why not showcase it? Adding beams, decorative or not, is a great way to draw the eye up! In this case they let the hardware do the talking, but you could easily do the opposite.

Easy and Simple. No better way to add a pop to any room than painting the ceiling a bright pop of color. I think this is the way to go if you are afraid of making an expensive commitment. You can change the colors every couple of years as your style changes.

DARK + BOLD
I sightly mentioned this above under the shiplap option and it is very similar to the color block option above. But adding a very dark color to your ceiling can seem scary. Clients always seem to be afraid to go too dark, that it will make a room feel small. And that can definitely happen with the wrong space or other elements. If your surrounding walls are white or very light and bright, dark can be a good thing. It adds warmth and interest to the space. Also, if you have brightly colored or lighter pieces, they will play off the darker color well and brighten up the room rather than make it darker.

Adding this classic detail will definitely give you a statement making ceiling. It goes back as old as time, but can work with any style space.

Just like color blocking, why not add a wallpaper to your ceiling? Especially one in a fun pattern. This adds such a custom feeling to the space, but isn’t right for every room. It is perfect in powder bathrooms, or offices, or in a bedroom if you have a smaller soffit for an accent.
